Birthday parties 2010

the Birthday party this year was fun in a everything went wrong sort of way. it started about a month ago. Tony and i started 'spring cleaning' (yes I'm aware its not spring) trying to get ready for the TV from mom and dad. we finished enough for company. the living room looks great. i always make the birthday cake but when the day came i just wasn't into it. i was going to buy one but couldn't even bring myself into doing that either. (should have been my first sign) Zoe wanted pink hearts and Emma wanted green stars, so that's what they got. with the left over batter i make a two layer cake for everyone else. the frosting wouldn't thicken up and the top layer slid when cut into. oh well, i still thought it was good. so i had a genius plan to make homemade ice cream. that's where the 'great' part of the idea stopped. it didn't set. at all. it made milk though the middle, but the outside edges and bottom were very stiff and enough for everyone to have a taste. (now i have left over homemade ice cream. my plan all along.) it's official i suck at making fudge. i think i know where i went wrong though. it was very thick (think fudge) and the sugar didn't dissolve. but the plus to this, the carmel tasted (and still tastes) great. but the girls did have a good time. they got a lot of craft/drawing/coloring stuff. they got some really cute cloths. Dad and Mom were in town and we got the TV. Beautiful!! the next day after church we went over to Grandma Mcfarlands for dinner. then on Monday after school we went shopping. Mom got the girls more cute cloths. i got Emma some sneakers. she didn't have any that fit her prior to this) all in all a great birthday week.
